So, that Japanese Spider-man show that ran for one year in 1978 is all kinds of crazy fun…

Corporate Politics Fuck with Fans: Why some of Stan Lee's greatest characters will never truly team up on the big screen

melissatheamazing:

Everyone has been thinking it:

"X-men got rebooted just a few months ago."

"Avengers comes out in May."

"Amazing Spider-Man is coming out in July."

"OMG, THEY'RE PLANNING A TEAM-UP SOMEWHERE!"

And I hate being the bearer of bad news, but that's probably not going to happen. And here's why:

Sony owns Spider-Man.

Disney bought the Avengers (and owns the characters associated with them in the upcoming movie).

Fox owns the X-Men (and does still technically own Daredevil and the Fantastic Four, but with Chris Evans now portraying Captain America instead of the Human Torch, that series is dead unless it's rebooted).

The rights to our favorite heroes are all owned by different companies, and Marvel probably can't pay them enough to all to work together (let alone buy the rights to their characters back).

And for that, I think Marvel should be doing a big facepalm. Featuring Spider-Man in the second Avengers would be a great move and draw in a bunch of fans, but there's little chance of Sony cooperating with Disney.
